Sugarbush Resort Opens New Restaurant – Rumble’s Kitchen

05/22/2017

Warren, VT (May 23, 2017) – Sugarbush Resort is opening Rumble’s Kitchen this weekend, a new restaurant located at the base of Lincoln Peak. Rumble’s Kitchen will take the place of Timbers, a restaurant that opened in 2006 and remained open through early May of this year.

The restaurant is named in honor of Sugarbush Owner and President Win Smith’s Bernese Mountain Dog, Rumble. Rumble spent nearly nine years at the mountain pursuing a life of adventure and camaraderie, and could often be found relaxing outside the restaurant, at his dog house, surrounded by the kids of Sugarbush.

The restaurant features a casual atmosphere, fresh seasonal cooking, and friendly and efficient service with a scenic backdrop. The cuisine works mostly off an American pub theme. Dishes range from appetizers like Maple-Rosemary Roasted Nuts and Lobster Wontons, to specialty burgers, pork belly tacos, and flank steak. The House Burger features local beef, Cabot cheddar cheese, house-smoked jalapeños in barbeque sauce topped with crispy fried onions. The Dragon Bowl is a blend of warm grains, crisp raw and marinated vegetables, pickled ginger, sprouts, and miso-grilled tofu with a secret sauce. The menu features numerous gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegetarian options.

Patrick Garvin of Fayston will oversee all aspects of the kitchen. Garvin, a former chocolatier and caterer, will continue to focus on building relationships with farmers in the Mad River Valley. Garvin has used over one ton of local produce in his kitchen in the past two seasons. Margo Nugent will take over as Rumble’s Kitchen General Manager. Nugent has spent 19 years at Sugarbush, the last eight as Food and Beverage Administrator. Nugent was part of the team credited with the success of the Wünderbar.

Rumble’s Kitchen opens Friday, May 26th. The restaurant will serve breakfast daily, and dinner Thursday – Monday. Starting June 24th through Labor Day, Rumble’s Kitchen will be open seven days a week for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The fall operating schedule will revert back to daily breakfast, dinner Thursday-Monday, and lunch on weekends and holidays.
